HOMAGE TO KING
Xavier Medina-Campeny
located on Freedom Parkway at Boulevard
”…I always think that I am just beginning and I have yet all the time ahead…”
Xavier MEDINA-CAMPENY was born in Barcelona in 1943, the descendant of a family of sculptors. His prolific career has spanned almost four decades with work exhibited around the globe in one man shows, public installations, and group shows. Numerous pieces are in the collections of museums throughout Europe and the US. As part of the cultural legacy of the 1996 Atlanta Olympic games, Catalan artist Xavier Medina-Campeny created this permanent tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr. which stands at the intersection of Boulevard and Freedom Parkway, just to the north of the King Center and to the west of the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum.
